Signature Assignment  Reflection:

While researching the signature assignment, I was asked to find three articles concerning human health. I found three recent articles published within the last year concerning: Aspirin and cancer, benefits of organic foods, and smoking amongst patients who have been diagnosed with mental health concerns.  While reading these articles, it was very interesting to realize how much as a civilization we still do not understand very much about about ourselves as humans:
  1. Aspirin has been around for many years, although studies are just now suggesting that this simple medicine could help cancerous tumors from metastasizing.
  2. There have been many researches concerning health and organic foods. However scientists are now questioning the viability of these past studies due to inefficient evidence.
  3. Smoking cigarettes/cigars has been around for hundreds of years. Finally, more data is being gathered asking why people diagnosed with mental health disorders make up the larger portion of dedicated smokers.

Even though humans have lived for 200,000 years, we're still trying to uncover simple mysteries about ourselves.
